With 10 days, 5 high school students, 3 film instructors and a case of iPhones, the Vidwest Digital Storytelling Workshop gives young filmmakers a crash course in indie filmmaking. The annual workshop aims to lift up young filmmakers and give their cinematic dreams flight in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
This year's workshop runs from June 21 - 30 and Vidwest Studios is inviting interested high school students to apply. The workshop is free but is limited to 10 participants. The ideal student applicant is someone interested in filmmaking or digital storytelling and who is open to working one-on-one with instructors and a small team. It's a non-traditional classroom format and will involved dedicated time to complete the project.
The workshop is a partnership between Vidwest Studios and Access Arts. For more details and to apply, visit www.schoolofservice.org/vidwest_survey.
